Student Heart Screening
In collaboration with the Cody Stephens Foundation and the Community Fire Department, students ages 10-24 have the opportunity to receive a heart screening designed to detect potential health risks, particularly in young athletes. This screening involves a quick, non-invasive procedure that can identify underlying heart conditions, such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which might otherwise go unnoticed but could lead to serious complications during physical activity. By offering these screenings, we aim to promote early detection and prevention, ensuring students can safely participate in sports and other physical activities.
The first 100 registrants will receive the screening at no cost. After that, the fee will be $10 per person.
The Cody Stephens Foundation was established to honor Cody Stephens, a young athlete who tragically passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition, and is dedicated to preventing similar incidents through awareness and proactive testing.
This initiative underscores our commitment to student safety and well-being, providing peace of mind for families and supporting a healthy future for young athletes.
